Suzuki jimny
The Suzuki Jimny is a tiny, cheap and hardcore off-roader.Jimny Does off-roading quite brilliantly. The switchable four-wheel drive is powerful, responsive and effective even in poor conditions.Jimny is actually smaller than most superminis. Outside its rugged good looks give it an attractive appearance.Inside the front seats are generously proportioned and leg room is deep and wide enough for a good stretch. The driving position is comfortable with instrumentation clearly displayed. Being higher than many other vehicles visability is very good. Large door mirrors make for excellent rear-view vision. It’s noisy and cramped inside. The long-travel suspension copes quite well with huge bumps, but shudders on smaller ones. In the back leg room is very limited, particularly if the front seats are pushed back. The individually folding rear seats provide space for a good amount of luggage. Suzuki’s 1.3-litre VVT four-cylinder gets the job done around town and off the beaten track and the engine certainly delivers all the performance that the chassis can handle. The fuel tank capacity is 40 litres. All versions of the Suzuki Jimny have front electric windows, remote central locking, front foglamps, black roof rails and a CD player. The dearer SZ4 models add part-leather seats, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, alloy wheels and smarter looks, with two-tone roof rails, tinted glass and body-coloured door handles. The Jimny is way behind modern standards now; there are front airbags only, and no traction or stability control – crucial aids in a small but tall,high-riding vehicle with a high centre of gravity.Running costs It’s so cheap it’s practically disposable, but actually it’ll last for ages and need very little care or attention. Yes there’s only a petrol engine, but this is hardly a high-mileage vehicle.
